Shapednoise isn't just making music; he's crafting sonic architecture, dismantling and rebuilding it into brutalist soundscapes that resonate with both dread and a perverse beauty. Born Nino Pedone, the Italian-born, Berlin-based producer forges a path through the darkest corridors of experimental electronic music. His sound, a visceral blend of industrial techno, noise, and avant-garde electronics, owes as much to the harsh textures of Pan Sonic as it does to the rhythmic intensity of early Aphex Twin. Shapednoise gained early recognition through his work with the Cosmo Rhythmatic label and his collaborative projects, notably "The Sprawl" with Rabih Beaini. However, his solo output on labels like Hospital Productions and Type Records cemented his position as a key figure in the experimental scene. His albums, often exploring themes of societal decay and technological dystopia, are not just collections of tracks, but immersive audio experiences. He continues to push boundaries with live performances that are as sonically challenging as they are visually arresting. With recent collaborations with artists like Ecco2k and Yves Tumor, Shapednoise remains at the forefront, forging new pathways in extreme electronic music.
