This Hamburg-based ensemble takes the pulsating rhythms of house and techno, deconstructs them, and rebuilds them using only acoustic instruments – trumpets blasting out synth melodies, trombones mimicking basslines, and drums hammering out the insistent four-on-the-floor beat. MEUTE's journey began in 2015 as an experiment by trumpeter Thomas Burhorn, seeking to translate electronic music's energy into a live, acoustic experience. Their early performances, often impromptu street gigs, quickly garnered attention, spreading virally through social media. Their breakthrough came with their reinterpretations of tracks by artists like Laurent Garnier and Flume, transforming digital compositions into brassy, sweat-soaked spectacles.
