Crossfade: Nu-Metal Survivors Forging a New Path Emerging from Columbia, South Carolina, Crossfade carved a niche in the early 2000s nu-metal landscape with a distinctive blend of hard rock aggression and melodic sensitivity. Their self-titled debut, fueled by the hit singles "Cold" and "Colors," showcased a soundscape indebted to bands like Staind and Three Days Grace, yet infused with a unique Southern rock sensibility. This fusion propelled them to mainstream success, achieving platinum status and establishing Crossfade as a force to be reckoned with. However, internal struggles and lineup changes presented significant hurdles. Despite releasing "Falling Away" in 2006, momentum waned. The band navigated periods of inactivity, leading many to believe their story had concluded. But Crossfade proved resilient. The current lineup, featuring original bassist Mitch James, has been steadily rebuilding, releasing new music and touring to reconnect with their dedicated fanbase. While the nu-metal boom has subsided, Crossfade continues to evolve, incorporating contemporary rock elements while staying true to the raw emotion that defined their early work. They are currently writing and recording new material, signaling a renewed commitment to their craft.
