Initially gaining viral fame for their summery 2015 "Summer Mashup," a medley of global hits reimagined with cello, vocals, and percussive instrumentals, L.E.J quickly proved they were more than just a YouTube sensation. Their sound, while rooted in classical instrumentation, embraces a diverse palette: folk harmonies, indie-pop sensibilities, and the occasional electronic flourish. Albums like "En Attendant L'Album" and "Poupées Russes" showcase original compositions alongside their signature mashups, revealing a songwriting depth often masked by their cover-song beginnings. Beyond the covers, their original tracks explore themes of female empowerment and societal issues. L.E.J’s breakthrough moment stemmed from their viral mashups.
