About

Uada doesn’t just play black metal; they conjure it. Hailing from the American Northwest, this enigmatic quartet has carved a distinctive niche in the extreme metal landscape with their atmospheric and intensely melodic brand of black metal. Influenced by the raw fury of early Scandinavian masters like Dissection and Mayhem, Uada blends these foundations with a distinctly American sensibility, incorporating elements of atmospheric black metal akin to bands such as Wolves in the Throne Room, albeit with a darker, more aggressive edge. Formed in 2014, Uada quickly gained momentum with the release of their debut album, *Devoid of Light,* in 2016, a record that immediately established their signature sound. Subsequent releases, including *Cult of a Dying Sun* (2018) and *Djinn* (2020), cemented their reputation for crafting meticulously composed and emotionally resonant black metal. Their music evokes a sense of isolation, despair, and the sublime vastness of the natural world. Uada's success lies not only in their musicianship but also in their commitment to maintaining an air of mystique. Eschewing traditional band photos and interviews, they allow their music to speak for itself. This approach, coupled with their powerful live performances, has cultivated a dedicated following within the black metal community. Recent tours throughout North America and Europe continue to expand their reach, proving that Uada is a force to be reckoned with in the contemporary black metal scene.
