HEXX isn't merely reviving the Bay Area thrash scene; they're reigniting its inferno. Emerging from San Francisco's fertile ground in the early '80s, HEXX carved a niche for themselves with a potent blend of speed metal ferocity and NWOBHM melodicism, a sound often dubbed "power thrash." Guitarists Dan Watson and Clint Bower's dual guitar attack, coupled with vocalist Dennis Jagard's powerful range, set them apart from their peers. Their debut, "No Escape," (1984) established their signature sound, followed by "Under the Spell" (1986) which further solidified their position. Despite lineup changes and periods of inactivity, HEXX never truly vanished. The 2017 release of "Wrath of the Fallen," their first studio album in over 25 years, proved that their metallic fire still burned bright. Re-energized, the band followed up with "Entangled in Sin" in 2023, showcasing renewed songwriting prowess. Beyond the studio, HEXX's relentless touring schedule, as evidenced by their Bandsintown presence, keeps them connected with a dedicated fanbase eager for their blend of classic and contemporary metal. HEXX stands as a testament to the enduring power of Bay Area thrash, reminding fans that some legends never truly fade. They continue to prove that the wrath of HEXX remains a force to be reckoned with in the metal underground.
