The duo, John Sprosen and Christine Woodbridge, are pioneers of UK dub, weaving together heavyweight basslines, ethereal melodies, and conscious lyrics rooted in Rastafarian ideology. Their sound, a distinctive strain of roots reggae infused with digital production techniques, has resonated with generations of sound system culture enthusiasts. Alpha & Omega carved their niche in the late 1980s, initially self-releasing music on their A&O label. Their breakthrough came with consistent output throughout the 90s, solidifying their status as dub innovators. Beyond simply producing music, they have built a vast collaborative network, working with vocalists like Sister Aisha, Nishka, and Jonah Dan, enriching their already potent sound. Regularly touring the international sound system circuit, Alpha & Omega continue to spread their message of unity and spiritual awareness.
